Amanda De Cadenet (born May 19, 1972) is a British-born actress, and the daughter of British race car driver Alain de Cadenet. She was married to John Taylor of Duran Duran, with whom she had a daughter, Atlanta.
She is probably better known for her personal life than her acting work; she was Courtney Love's best friend for a while, and has been linked romantically to Keanu Reeves.
In Britain, De Cadenet is still best known as a "wildchild" of the early 1990s when her hedonistic exploits became daily tabloid fodder. Her infamy led her into television work and for some years she co-presented The Word, a controversial late-night channel 4 magazine show.
While her acting career has slumped into a steep decline, she has become considerably more successful as a photographer, working for such magazines as Spin, Vogue and Jane, among others. In mid 2005, de Cadenet published a book entitled "Rare Birds," comprised of hundreds of photographs taken over the past decade. Her subjects include Sophie Dahl, Drew Barrymore, Beck Hansen, Nick Valensi, Keanu Reeves, and many others.
She recently married long time boyfriend Nick Valensi, guitarist for The Strokes, and is expecting a child with him later this year.
