American Extreme Wrestling is an Outdoor Entertainment league out of Long Island, NY. It was created by a group of 6 friends in junior high school that eventually developed into an amateur wrestling league.

Federation Background

AEW wouldn't exist if it wasn't for former owner and father to the current owner - The Man James Aiello. He allowed the group to start back in 1998, often times interfering in matches, giving the camera a taste of his mind (middle finger) and screwing over his son, Doctor Doom. The group evolved over the time, having such groups as Techno 2000 (an odd couple of guys who brightened up everyone with there funny acts, happy music and magoo head)- The Ballz/Doom Era (which consisted of two of the most biggest names in AEW joining forces to run the company)and many more.

Some of their unforgettable angles were - The EWA/AEW Invasion were long time AEW-ers who traded the company and joined EWA (another brand not associated at that time with AEW.) EWA gained enough popularity to feel the need to invade AEW and end its competition. This ended with the AEW defeating EWA after several months and gaining almost all their members.

A major angle was the Father Time Angle. Father time, a basically unknown member of AEW dressed in a black robe and mask finally was revealed by German Ballz, after 7 years, to be none other then Fatti O' Brian. For the fans, this was a huge shocker.

The feud between wrestlers German Ballz and Doctor Doom could be considered one of the top series for the federation. These two introduced matches into the AEW, fought to no end and often times with bizarre revenge methods.
