Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Aldershot (also known as Wentworth—Burlington) was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1997 to 2004, and a provincial electoral district that has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999.

Its population was 104,775 in 2001.

Geography

The electoral district is located to the west and north of the city centre of Hamilton, Ontario. It includes the former towns of Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, and Aldershot.

History

The district was first created in 1996 as "Wentworth—Burlington" from parts of Hamilton—Wentworth riding. The riding was renamed "Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Aldershot" in 2000.

The federal electoral district was abolished in 2003 when it was redistibuted between Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Westdale, Burlington, Hamilton Centre, Hamilton Mountain and Niagara West—Glanbrook ridings.

Member of Parliament

This riding elected the following members of the Canadian House of Commons:

  1. John Bryden, Liberal, briefly Independent, then Conservative (1997-2004)

Members of Provincial Parliament

This riding has elected the following members of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:

  1. Toni Skarica, Ontario Progressive Conservative Party (1999-2000)
  2. Ted McMeekin, Liberal (2000-present)
