Anchieta is the surname of Father José de Anchieta (1534-1597), a Jesuit missionary, Apostle of Brazil, writer and poet. A few of the following places and things which were named after him:

Anchieta is also the name of a place in the region of Caconda, in the country of Angola, Africa. It was probably named after José de Anchieta, noted Portuguese explorer and zoologist, who studied the region and its fauna between 1866 and 1897. He and his successors described many new animal species and named for him:
