Andøya Rocket Range is a civilian facility owned by the Norwegian Space Centre (a company under the Royal Ministry of Trade and Industry, Norway). It has been the host of European Space Camp for secondary school students since 1996.
In 1995 a rocket launched from Andøya Rocket Range almost created an international crisis when it was detected by Russian radar and assumed to be a Trident launched from an American submarine in the Norwegian sea. This despite that the Russian authorities had been informed of the launch beforehand.
Andøya Rocket Range is located in Andøy municipality.
