The Ando clan was a Japanese clan originating in the Mikawa Province. The Ando claimed descent from Abe Nakamaro (701?-770?) and the Fujiwara. The Ando mainly took part during the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. The Ando became quite well known through the fact that Ando Ieshige came to served Matsudaira Hirotada who was the father of the very famous Tokugawa Ieyasu. Ieshige ended up being killed when fighting for Anjo during the year of 1540.
