Andreas Dittmer (born 16 April 1972 in Neustrelitz) is a German flatwater canoer. The dominant Canadian canoer of his generation in 1000m races, he has won three Olympic and eight world championship gold medals.

Dittmer won his first Olympic gold at the 1996 Olympics in the C-2 1000m. After Atlanta, he concentrated on the individual event and won his first C-1 world title in 1997. At Sydney 2000 he won the C-1 1000m gold but had to settle for the bronze in the 500m race.

Dittmer went to the 2004 Summer Olympics as the overwhelming favourite for the 1000m gold medal, having won three consecutive world titles. However he was surprisingly beaten by Spain's David Cal, who finished just 0.52 seconds ahead of Dittmer's time of 3:46.721.

In the 500m final Dittmer gained his revenge, edging out Cal by 0.34 seconds, to win the gold medal in a time of 1:46.383.

Dittmer's sister, Anja Dittmer, also competed at the 2004 Olympics. She is a triathlete.

At the 2005 Flatwater Racing World Championships, held in Zagreb, he won his fourth consecutive C-1 1000m gold. He also won the C-1 500m, thereby completing his second "double".

Dittmer won four consecutive C-1 1000m gold medals at the European championships before finally being defeated Romania's Florin Mironcic in the 2006 final, held in Račice, Czech Republic.
