Andrew Hignell

Doctor Andrew K Hignell (born 1959) is an archivist, cricket historian, scorer, statistician and a former schoolmaster.

After reading geography at Exeter University, he was later awarded a doctorate for research at University College, Cardiff, into surburban development. He taught at Blundell's for six years before he became head of the geography department at the Wells Cathedral School in 1993.

He gave up his teaching career, when he joined Glamorgan CCC full-time as their 1st XI scorer. He has also scored for BBC Radio Wales and is also the archivist and statistician for Glamorgan. He is a past winner of the ACS Statistician of the Year award in 1998.

He currently holds the following positions:

His cousin is Alastair Hignell, a former England rugby union international full-back and Gloucestershire cricketer.
