Jellyfish
Jellyfish released two albums to much critical acclaim Bellybutton (1990), and Spilt Milk (1993). The Andy Sturmer/Roger Manning songwriting duo that was the core of the group was even heralded as the second-coming of Lennon/McCartney. However, the band failed to catch fire commercially, and intragroup friction led to Jellyfish's dissolution in early 1994. A promised solo album after the break-up has yet to materialize, but Sturmer has appeared on numerous projects as a background vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.Producer
After Jellyfish's demise, Sturmer began a new career as a producer and writer, most notably for the Japanese pop band Puffy AmiYumi. He is also consulting producer for their TV show Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, also composing the score music for the show. He has also composed the theme songs for Teen Titans, the second season of The Batman animated series and the popular sci-fi action animated series, Ben 10.About a half-dozen of Sturmer's songwriting demos for the contemporary country market (some in collaboration with ex-Little Texas keyboardist Brady Seals) have circulated among fans over the past few years. Sturmer has also appreared on various albums for back up vocals for artist like Bleu's Redhead and Switchfoot's Nothing is Sound.
