Angeles City

Angeles City is a 1st class city in the province of Pampanga, Philippines (location: [15°08′40″N, 120°35′30″E]). It is near the Clark International Airport and Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) (formerly Clark Air Base). It also has a significant red-light district in the Fields Avenue area. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 263,971 people in 55,769 households.

Angeles is the birthplace of Apl.de.ap, member of the Black Eyed Peas.

Economy

The economy of Angeles City has accelerated in the past decade driven by advances in global communication technology and the finishing of a modern highway that tremendously improved trade and transport.

Angeles has a cottage industry that includes Rattan furniture production. It also includes the production of coconuts, charcoal, and briquettes. It also has a semiconductor industry involved in the manufacturing of electronics and computers.
