Angry Anderson

Encyclopedia : A : AN : ANG : Angry Anderson

Angry Anderson AM (born Gary Anderson, Melbourne, August 5, 1947) is an Australian rock singer, television presenter/reporter and actor. He is instantly recognisable because of his well-tattooed arms, his shaven head and his powerful, blues-style vocal performances.

Anderson is the lead singer with the successful bands Rose Tattoo and The Party Boys, both of which were popular in the 1980s and still perform from time to time.

Anderson is perhaps best known outside Australia for his uncharacteristic ballad "Suddenly", used as the wedding theme for the Neighbours soap opera characters Charlene Robinson and Scott Robinson. He also appeared in the hit movie and in stage musicals in Australia.

In 1991, he performed the pre-match entertainment at the AFL Grand Final (between Hawthorn and West Coast). He appeared singing on top of a Batmobile, and singing the song "Bound for Glory".

In 2002 Anderson played with former members of The Angels at the Bali Relief concert, held in aid of victims of the Bali bombing, in Perth, Australia.
