Anja Kauranen (b. 1954, changed her name to Anja Snellman) is a Finnish author.
A member of the Punkakatemia anthology, she made her breakthrough with the portrayal of youthful rebellion Sonja O. kävi täällä.
Her novel Pelon maantiede caused a minor fracas both for its graphic portrayal of sexual violence perpetrated by a group of women on a man as a retaliation for rape/sexual harassment, and for claims by a researcher that she had quoted her scientific work out of context and without attribution.
