Anope
Encyclopedia : A : AN : ANO : Anope
Anope is an IRC services package based on the Epona IRC services package (Anope gets its name from spelling Epona backwards).
Anope began as a simple bug fix for Epona when the author of that package stopped supporting it for a while beginning in 2002. It later took on a life of its own and evolved many of its own features, including most importantly MySQL support and a modular core.
Version 1.6.4, released September 8, 2005, is the latest stable version. The current development tree is 1.7.x, and is frequently updated. The package includes a ChanServ, NickServ, OperServ, MemoServ, HelpServ, BotServ, and HostServ for some IRCDs. It is released under the GNU General Public License. It compiles on most Unix-like operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, and others. Microsoft Windows support is available as well.
