Anything That Moves

Encyclopedia : A : AN : ANY : Anything That Moves

Anything That Moves was a literary, journalistic, and topical magazine published in the United States from 1990 to 2002. It started as an expansion of the [San Francisco] Bay Area Bisexual Network's newsletter, and swiftly grew to become a full magazine, with an international subscriber base. Although the focus of the magazine was bisexuality, its founders promoted it as being geared towards the "FABGLITTER", an inclusive acronym for "Fetish, Allies, Bisexuals, Gay, Lesbians, Intersexed, Transgender, Transsexual Engendering Revolution."

The magazine took its name from the stereotype of bisexuals as being willing to have sex with "anything that moves". Despite persistent misconceptions, Anything That Moves never endorsed zoophilia.

The magazine's mission was to challenge and redefine concepts of sexuality and gender, to defy stereotypes and cookie cutter definitions of bisexuals and to combat biphobia. The publishers operated as a non-profit, with all proceeds being reinvested into the project. Anything That Moves ceased publication in February of 2002.
