The Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1876 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (citation 39 & 40 Vict c. 59) which created the judicial functions of the House of Lords in its modern form. The provisions of the act will be eventually superseded when the Law Lords are removed from Parliament, under the Constitutional Reform Act 2005.
