Arabian leopard
Encyclopedia : A : AR : ARA : Arabian leopard
The Arabian leopard is a smaller leopard than that of its cousins in Asia and Africa. They are not leopards of the open desert and bush, but live in the high mountains of Arabia, where it preys on mountain goats, foxes, and other mountain-dwelling animals. The Arabian leopard is golden colored around its back while the rest of it is beige to greyish white between its many rosettes. Males weigh in at about 30 kilograms (66.14 pounds) and females at about 20 kilograms (44.1 pounds). Each adult leopard has their own range which they violently defend from other leopards of their own sex, however a male's range might overlap that of several other females. Inside these ranges, the leopards hunt, mate, and raise young. Like many other leopard species, the Arabian leopard is an endangered species.
