Aralar

Aralar is a Basque nationalist political group in Spain. It takes its name after a mountain range in the Basque Country. Its ideology is left-wing. They are for the Basque country´s self-determination, but unlike ETA and its political arm, Batasuna they are against the practice of terrorism or any form of political violence. Aralar was formed as a schism in Batasuna.
In the Spanish general election, 2004 Aralar contested together with Zutik.
In the Basque elections of April 17, 2005, Aralar entered the Basque Parliament with one seat. Its leader has been criticized in ETA's internal organ, Zutabe.
