Archibald Putt

Encyclopedia : A : AR : ARC : Archibald Putt

Archibald Putt is the pseudonym of the author of Putt's Law and the successful technocrat (Putt, 1981), which popularized the adage known as Putt's Law, which states:

Technology is dominated by two types of people: those who understand what they do not manage, and those who manage what they do not understand.
This adage was first published in Research/Development magazine in January 1976 (Dickson, 1980).

A new version of Putt's book, ISBN 0471714224, was released on April 21, 2006. Advance publicity hinted that the author's true name, which has been the subject of much speculation over the years, will be revealed after the new edition is released.
