Argument of perigee

The argument of perigee is the angle subtending from the ascending node to the point of perigee in an Earth-centered orbit. It is measured in degrees of arc, from 0° to 360°. A satellite with an argument of perigee of 0° will be crossing the Equator northbound at perigee; with 180°, it will be crossing the Equator northbound at apogee.
