Encyclopedia : A : AR : ARI : Ariamnes of Cappadocia
Ariamnes (in Greek Aριάμνης; ruled 280–230 BC), ruler of Cappadocia, succeeded his father Ariarathes II. He was very fond of his children, and shared his crown with his son Ariarathes III (255–220 BC) in his life-time. He was probably the first to obtain the independence of Cappadocia from the Seleucid Empire.1
