History

The game was originally created by Jason Ely (Lothgar), Doug Gesler (Zarquon) and the others at Asylumsoft. The music was composed by Paavo Härkönen, and Customer Support was driven by Angela Gaston (Cordelia).

Jason Ely was originally one of the programmers of Ultima VIII, and . Using, with permission, old graphic tiles from Ultima V, Ely began working on the first Dransik beta. Over the course of the next two years, the developing Dransik beta very much had the look of Ultima IV and Ultima V along with the general ruleset and character building functionality of Ultima Online in the beginning. As the beta progressed towards release, those similarities slowly vanished. The Dransik team eventually brought on board a graphic designer to redesign the graphical tileset. The look of the game progressed from its original flat 2D style to a more sophisticated isometric layout. As well, the ever-expanding character building options under development eventually forked off in a new direction from that of its mentor MMORPG, Ultima Online.

Dransik Classic

Iron Will Games now "owns" Dransik and maintains a Dransik Classic server.
