Asian Network of Major Cities 21 is a body representing the interests of several of East Asia's largest capital cities around common themes of importance, including urban planning, sustainability and crisis management. It was formed by common declaration of at a meeting held in Kuala Lumpur in August 2000.
Its member cities are the metropolitan governments of:
Beijing withdrew its membership in August 2005 in protest at the decision of the group to hold its fifth plenary in Taipei, Taiwan in April 2006.
