Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians

Encyclopedia : A : AS : ASS : Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians

The role of the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians (ACS) is to promote and encourage research into the statistical and historical aspects of cricket throughout the world (at all levels) and to publish the findings. The Association is based in Cardiff at the Glamorgan CCC cricket ground at Sophia Gardens and the membership is worldwide and open to anyone who is interested in the history of cricket and/or in Cricket statistics.

To assist statistical research, the ACS has worked hard over the years to compile details of all first-class cricket matches and List A limited overs matches. Although the Association has no formal responsibility in respect of the status of matches it is generally regarded as being the best independent source of advice when questions over match status are raised. The International Cricket Council has sought the views of the ACS on match status issues for Test cricket and One Day Internationals.
