Atchison and Pike's Peak Railroad

The Atchison and Pike's Peak Railroad is the original name for the Central Branch Union Pacific Railroad and was incoporated on February 11, 1859. It was involved in several treaties with the Kickapoo Indian Tribe that helped grow the railroad in the belief that it would help connect Colorado gold mines with eastern railroads.
