Aterno

The Aterno is a river in eastern Italy. It flows through the region of Abruzzo and into the Adriatic Sea at Pescara. In its lower course, it is also known as Pescara. The two main cities of Abruzzo, L'Aquila and Pescara, are found on its course. In ancient times it was known as Aternus.
