Atikaki Provincial Wilderness Park

Encyclopedia : A : AT : ATI : Atikaki Provincial Wilderness Park

Atikaki Provincial Wilderness Park is located in Manitoba, Canada, and is designated as a wilderness park. This means that there are no roads, logging areas, or major developments in the park. It is located east of Lake Winnipeg, along the Ontario border in the Canadian Shield region.

Atikaki is home to wildlife such as moose, elk, black bears, loons, bald eagles, woodland caribou, and other creatures of the boreal forest. It is known mostly for its beautiful waterways, and is a popular destination for more adventurous canoe trippers. Most popular are the Bloodvein, Gammon, and Sasaginnigak rivers. Several fly in lodges are also available.
