History
The airline was established on 14 March 2001 and started operations on 1 June 2001. It was owned 100% by Oger Holdings.According to Atlasjet's homepage [link] it is owned by the Öger Group and ETS (a Turkish tourism group). ETS took over 49% of Atlasjet International Airways in April 2004.
The website is outdated: Oger Holdings sold its remaining stake in Atlasjet to ETS in January 2006. The ownership is now broken down as follows: 45%: ETS 45%: Mehmet Ersoy and Murat Ersoy (shareholders of ETS) 10%: Tuncay Doganer (General Manager of Atlasjet)
Services
Atlasjet operates the following services (at January 2006):- Domestic scheduled destinations: Adana, Antalya, Istanbul, Izmir, Gaziantep, Trabzon, Kars, Erzurum, Konya, Diyarbakir, Malatya, Lefkoşa(Nicosia), Sivas.
New Routes
It has announced various new routes on April & May 2006:- Istanbul Ataturk-Ercan: up to 3x daily service
- Istanbul Ataturk-Konya: daily Canadair CRJ-700 service
- Adana-Ercan: 6x weekly Airbus 319-100 service
- Izmir-Ercan: 4x weekly Airbus 319-100 service
- Istanbul Ataturk-Sanliurfa: 2x weekly Canadair CRJ-900 service
Fleet
The Atlasjet fleet consists of the following aircraft (at July 2006):- 9 Airbus A320-200
- 2 Airbus A319-100
- 4 Boeing 757-200
- 3 Canadair CRJ-900
Incidents and accidents
On 7 February 2005 an Atlasjet Airbus A320 left the runway at Atatürk International Airport, Istanbul, Turkey, in snowy conditions. There were no fatalities among the 6 crew and 164 passengers (ref: Flight International, July 2005).External links
