In Norse mythology, Auðr (sometimes anglicized Aud) was the son of Nótt and Naglfari.

In the Viking Age, Aud the Deep-Minded (Icelandic: Auður djúpúðga Ketilsdóttir (834-900 AD) was the wife of Olaf the White of Dublin, "King" of Ireland. After his death, she travelled the British Isles and ultimately to Iceland, where she founded Hvammur í Skeggjadal (commonly translated as "Hvamm").

In the fictional Buffyverse (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Aud was the original mortal name of Anyanka, a vengeance demon who came to be known as Anya. Coincidentally, she also had a lover named Olaf, but the fates of these two couples were considerably different.
