Aunt Gertrude

Aunt Gertrude is a fictional character in The Hardy Boys book series by Franklin W. Dixon. She is the aunt of Frank and Joe Hardy (the Hardy Boys of the title).
Gertrude is the late-middle-aged (given as 65 in volume 10) spinster sister of Fenton Hardy. Tall, angular, sharp-tongued and peppery, she is constantly visiting the Hardy household unannounced and taking over, while criticising everything in sight. Eventually she moved into the Hardy home, apparently without any objection from reliably unresisting doormat Laura Hardy. Although described as "secretly adoring" the Hardy Boys, she is practically a raving psychotic in her non-stop denunciations of them (and the world in general). She was known on more than one occasion to go "on the warpath".
