Aunt Marion's Mansion is a 2004 novel by Barbara Sanger.
Plot
Aunt Marion's Mansion details the experiences of Helga Whitbroad, a young girl from New England. After the death of Helga's parents, Helga is sent to live with the titular widow, Aunt Marion Whitbroad, on her plantation near Mobile, Alabama. Helga's experiences while living with her aunt contribute greatly to her development, but Marion's eventual suicide leaves Helga's faith in humanity shaken.
