Aurad

Aurad is a panchayat town in Bidar district in the state of Karnataka, India.

Geography

Aurad is located at [18.25° N 77.43° E][Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Aurad]. It has an average elevation of 542 metres (1778 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census^{[Geographic references#IndiaGRIndia]}, Aurad had a population of 16,189. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Aurad has an average literacy rate of 56%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
