Auraiya is a city and a municipal board in Auraiya district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Geography

Auraiya is located at [26.47° N 79.52° E][Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Auraiya]. It has an average elevation of 137 metres (449 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census^{[Geographic references#IndiaGRIndia]}, Auraiya had a population of 64,598. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Auraiya has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 56% of the males and 44% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
