Australia's Funniest Home Video Show (originally Graham Kennedy's Funniest Home Videos) is the name of an Australian television show on the Nine Network that presents 'funny' home videos sent in by viewers. These most typically feature people falling over; people falling over and hurting themselves; babies and animals doing amusing things, or; old people doing things they shouldn't be doing.
About the show
This show is similar in content to You've Been Framed and America's Funniest Home Videos.Each new Australian video shown receives $500. At the end of each episode the audience watching at home via Telephone and SMS (Cell Phone Texting) voting, choose their favourite video of the night was out of a selection of 4. The winner receives $5000.
At the end of each year there are semi finals and a grand final, where 3rd place receives a home theatre package from JVC, 2nd place receives a prize package worth around $100,000 and the winner receives $200,000 in cash.
The show has had a number of hosts. They are:
- Graham Kennedy (1990) - the original host & his last ever job as a TV show host
- Jacqui McDonald (1991)
- Lisa Patrick (1992)
- Jo Beth Taylor (1993-1997)
- Catriona Rowntree (1997)- only did a few shows as a guest host
- Kim Kilbey (1998-2002)
- Toni Pearen (2003-)
