The Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is an auto racing sanctioning body in the United States founded in 1964 (not to be confused with the sports car club of the same name founded by the Collier brothers in 1933). Similar to NASCAR, ARCA races stock cars, although the equipment is often more elderly and smaller than the stock cars used in NASCAR. ARCA's competitors contain a mix of both professional racers as well as hobby racers alike, in addition to younger competitors trying to make a name for themselves, sometimes driving as part of a driver development program in the NASCAR series. The current president of ARCA is Ron Drager.

ARCA has two divisions of competition: the ARCA RE/MAX Series, and the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series.

History

The Midwest Association for Race Cars (MARC) was established in 1952, and in 1964 the name was changed to the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA).

This is not the same organization founded in 1933—by Barron Collier, Jr., Samuel Collier, and Miles Collier—as the Automobile Racing Club of America, which changed its name in 1944 to the Sports Car Club of America.
