Automobile Alley

Automobile Alley is an urban neighborhood in Oklahoma City, located roughly along North Broadway Avenue in Downtown Oklahoma City. The neighborhood was a popular retail district in the 1920s and was home to most of the city's car dealerships. It had declined alaong with the rest of Downtown during the 1970s and 1980s. During the mid 1990's, there was an effort to redevelop the area has transformed the showrooms and storefronts of AAlley into upscale lofts, galleries, and offices.
Today there is a new push of development as the historic Colcord Oyster Bar is being relocated to Automobile Alley and the Colcord Building in the Central Business District is being renovated into a hotel. It is believed that the relocation of the upscale restaurant will provide the momentum to spur additional development that will further enhance AAlley's position as downtown's chic urban centre.
