Auxonne

Auxonne is a town and commune in the Côte-d'Or département in France, over the Saône river.

Auxonne is one of the sites containing the defensive structures of Vauban, clearly seen from the train bridge as it enters the Auxonne SNCF train station on the Dijon - Besançon train line.

It is sister-city with Heidesheim in Germany.
