Avispa Fukuoka

is a Japanese professional soccer (football) club, currently playing in the J-league Division 1. The team is located in Hakata, Fukuoka. Founded in 1982 as Chuo Bohan ACM Soccer Club in Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture, Avispa joined the J-League in 1996."Avispa" means "wasp" in Spanish.
In 2005, the team finished in 2nd place in Division 2, thus earing promotion to the top division for 2006.
