Axel Hervelle

Axel Hervelle (Born May 12, 1983 in Liège, Belgium) is a Belgian basketball player. He is a 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m) and 230 lb (104 kg) power forward.

He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 2nd round (52nd pick) of the 2005 NBA Draft, becoming the first Belgian player to be drafted.

He made all his young career in Europe. He first played with RBC Verviers-Pepinster (Belgium) during four years, averaging 11.4 points and 10.6 rebounds in 16 games during 2003-2004 season and becoming team captain at only 20 years old. Then, he signed with Real Madrid where he played 2004-2005 season, averaging 6.0 points (63.6% FGM) and 5.1 rebounds for 27 games.

Hervelle is member of the Belgian national basketball team.
