Bărăgan Plain

The Bărăgan Plain is a steppe plain in south-central Romania, part of the Romanian Plain.
It is mostly a cereal-growing area. The plain is also the location where the highest temperature in Romania was recorded (44.5 °C, at Ion Sion).
The area was also a depot for mass deportations by the Communist authorities during the 1950s.
