B'Day is the second studio album from singer Beyoncé Knowles. The album will be released September 4, 2006 (also Beyoncé's twenty-fifth birthday, possibly the reason why the album was named so). The album is the follow-up to Dangerously in Love. This is Beyoncé's first album released with Sony Urban Music under Columbia Records and Music World Music. Production on the album includes Rodney Jerkins, Rich Harrison, The Neptunes and Swizz Beatz. [PR Newswire]. "Beyonce & Fans to Celebrate Superstar's 25th Birthday With Eagerly Awaited New Solo Album, 'B'Day,' Coming in September". Retreived May 28, 2006. T.I. also confirmed working on B'Day.[link]
According to Beyoncé, after wrapping up her role on the upcoming Dreamgirls, she went into the studio and was given a deadline of 6 weeks to record her new album. Beyoncé instead recorded the album in 2 weeks, recording three songs a day without telling anyone, and submitted it to the record label to their surprise. She stated on TRL that she worked with her "all-star team of producers" on this record. Beyoncé also said that some U.S. stores will have B'Day for sale on September 4, 2006. On BET's 106 & Park, Beyonce confirmed that she had recorded 22 songs for the album and chose the best 10 to finalize the album, stating that the album would feature 10 tracks only. Columbia Records has yet to announce if Check on It appears on the album's track listing.
The first released single of the upcoming album is Déjà Vu.
