B. A. (Brian) Robertson (born Glasgow, 1956) is a Scottish musician and song writer.
He released his first album in 1973, but it was to be a further six years until he found success in the Uk charts.
Robertson had hits between 1979 and 1981 in the UK Singles charts, first of which "Bang Bang" made number 2 in August 1979. Following singles "Knocked It Off", "Kool In The Kaftan" and "To Be Or Not To Be" reached chart positions 8, 17 and 9 respectively. All the singles came from the successful album "Initial Success". In 1981 he had his last Top 40 hit, a duet with Maggie Bell, "Hold Me" which reached number 11. He also co-wrote Carrie for Cliff Richard and wrote and sung the theme tune to ''Maggie.
He co-wrote "The Living Years", a hit for Mike & the Mechanics . The lyrics were written when his father died twelve weeks before the birth of his son.
He also wrote We Have A Dream for the 1982 FIFA World Cup Scotland national football team.

His name was often mentioned in the satiricial sketch show The Fast Show, during the recurring sketch Chanel 9, a parody of non-English speaking TV channels. The joke was based on occasionally intelligible (to English speaking audiences) names appearing in foreign broadcast speech.
