BBC Trust

The BBC Trust is the new body which will oversee the BBC. Along with an Executive Board, the Trust will take over the role of the current Board of Governors and be in place by the end of 2006. They will operate on behalf of licence fee payers and make sure the BBC fulfils its public service obligations.
There will be twelve trustees, four of which have been announced by the Culture Secretary, Tessa Jowell:
- Michael Grade, chairman
- Dermot Gleeson
- Richard Tait CBE
- Jeremy Peat
