} The BOAC 500 was a long distance motor race for sports cars run at Brands Hatch, or to be precise three motor races held in 1967, 1968 and 1969. In 1966 a similar race was held sponsored by Ilford Films. After 1969 the race was transformed into the BOAC 1000 km in the years 1970,1971 and 1972 after which the series came to an end because of lack of support from car manufacturers, due in part to rule changes.
