Baiona is a municipality in Galicia, Spain in the province of Pontevedra.
The town of Baiona is a tourist town with a medieval historical center. Placed in the outlet of Vigo Bay, it is known for having been the town where one of the three caravels of Christopher Columbus' first expedition arrived after discovering America, in 1493. A replica of the ship, the Pinta, can be visited, and the event is celebrated every year.
