Bakbone Software Incorporated (TSX: [BKB]) is an international computer software company headquartered in San Diego, California.

History

The company in its present form was founded in March 2000. In 1997, AT&T spun off NetVault Ltd., located in Poole, UK, managed by H. Brayne and A. Unsworth. They brought aboard partners P. Barcus and A. Cerqueira in 1997 to create NetVault Japan in 1998. In 1999, Barcus and Cerqueira organized a buy out of NetVault Ltd. with a Canadian shell corporation, Net Resources Inc., together with A. Nesbitt and R. Wani. The action was completed in March 2000 and the company renamed BakBone Software, and headquarted in San Diego, CA.

Products

Bakbone offers an enterprise level backup facility called NetVault.
