The Bank of East Asia (Traditional Chinese: 東亞銀行) often abbreviated to BEA, is the largest independent chinese bank in Hong Kong.
It was founded in Hong Kong in 1918 and has grown to a HK$19.4 billion (US$2.5 billion) market capitalization. It is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as BEA. The bank was named the best bank in a poll by The Asset.
BEA has acquired United Chinese Bank and First Pacific Bank.
Its Chairman and Chief Executive is The Hon. Dr. Sir David Li Kwok-po.
