Barvas (Scottish Gaelic: Barabhas) is a place in the Isle of Lewis in Scotland.
It developed around a road junction. North is the road to Ness; west takes the traveller to Carloway and the West Side; south runs the road to Stornoway. It is known as being the location of the highest concentration of Scottish Gaelic speakers in Scotland (75% of the population).
In the early 2000s, controversy hit the area as Europe's largest windfarm was planned for Barvas Moor. Supporters and opponents divided the community.
