The Battle of North Borneo was fought from June 17 to August 15 of 1945 between Australia and Japan in what is currently Sabah during the Second World War. The battle was part of the Borneo Campaign.
The Australians launched an attack on the Japanese-held island during a joint campaign with American forces. They were victorious.
