Be'lakor, the Dark Master, is a daemon prince in the Warhammer Fantasy tabletop game.
At the dawn of time, Be'lakor was blessed. Blessed by all Chaos gods, he was considered the first Everchosen, the champion of Chaos undivided. However, Be'lakor's own hubris lead to his downfall. The Chaos god of change, Tzeentch, cursed Be'lakor and stripped him of his powers. To further Be'lakor's humiliation, Tzeentch forced the daemon prince to do the one thing that Be'lakor feared the most; He had to crown every new prince of Chaos. Being forced to give up his own title to lesser mortals infuriated Be'lakor to no ends.
The Rise of Archaon
Be'lakor was subject to another End Times prince when a young upstart named Archaon started to subjugate the northern tribes while claiming the necessary relics to be named the Everchosen. Be'lakor held the Crown of Domination, which could only be awarded to the mortal that survived a gauntlet of Chaos beasts and daemon spawn at the first Chaos shrine at the World's Edge Mountains.Archaon battled through the contenders and won the prize of coronation. Be'lakor had to crown another mortal. However, this time the coronation was different. While Archeon was gathering the 6 treasures of chaos Be'lakor was released from his prison. With his freedom he made plans to remain sane and to be free of his prison for ever, even after crowing the new Everchosen. It was he who caused the war on Albion. Although he lost he gained the power need to achieve his goals.
Final Battle of End Times
Be'lakor claimed the body of Volkmar the Grim at a past battle between the Empire and Archaon's forces. He strung the former Grand Theogonist to his banner for the rest of Volkmar's new unlife. Be'lakor then lead a force of daemons from the warp into battle against the Empire in order to draw Karl Franz's army off from assisting the exalted Valten's forces in battle against Archaon.Be'lakor lead his daemon forces well, slaughtering the bulk of Franz's army. However, the High Elves lead under the banner of Teclis arrived on the field. Teclis carried with him three hundred swordmasters of Hoeth and several magical relics designed for fighting Chaos. Be'lakor lead his forces against the swordmasters, allowing Karl Franz to march on to Archaon's forces. The battle was going well for Be'lakor, his daemons were being slaughtered but the small force of elves were being whittled away.
Teclis saw this plight and decided to use one of his most potent spells. He whispered incantations into a sphere in his hands, and an ethereal flame spread from his form, engulfing everything daemonic on the battlefield. While no daemons were killed, everything bearing the mark of chaos was sent back into the warp. Be'lakor, once again, lost his claim to power.
