Begeč (Serbian: Begeč or Бегеч, Croatian: Begeč, Hungarian: Begecs) is a village located in the Novi Sad municipality, in the South Bačka District of Serbia. It is situated in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
Geography and population
Begeč is located near the river Danube. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population is 3,360 people.
History and culture
It was first mentioned in the 16th century. There is a Serb Orthodox church from 1838 in the village.
